Hello my name is Miguel Tirado and I am recent computer engineering grad from California State University of Sacramento. I hope you like my 8-bit website, since I wanted to blend my interest for retro games with my skills, projects and experience. I am currently working as a SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) Engineer for Tesco Controls Inc which handles the development of HMI (Human Machine Interface) applications for Water and Waste Water plants. I aspire to learn as much as I can in this field while challenging myself each day with new problems and task to accomplish. I strive to continuously grow as a engineer and learn about many subject matters while making an impact on the workforce and my community.
As a Software Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) Engineer, I developed HMI (Human Machine Interface) applications for water and wastewater plants. The use of historians, servers, and lots of data in the form of OPC tags are used to record and control various industrial equipment such as pumps, transducers, valves, generators, and more. Some of the software programs I have learned to use thus far include AVEVA Intouch (Wonderware) and TopView (alarm notification program). As I progress my career here I hope to expand my knowledge in PLC (Programmable Logic Controller), Computer Networking, Cyber Security, and much more.
Helped the company transition from FPGA use towards microcontrollers by developing C and Python scripts that would allow wireless capabilities and control towards new audio products. Developed programs that would allow UDP communication with the audio product and the user.
Responsible for helping 40+ members achieve higher grades by promoting support services, conducting workshops, study sessions, and providing tutoring. Worked alongside a team of 12 student officers to improve and empower engineering students on campus
Helped a student towards their first year in college by being a mentor and leader. Lead the student to pursue higher grades and extracurricular activities. Provided tutoring, guidance, and support through difficult courses.
Help train new crew members on safety, food handling, area maintenance, and effective teamwork increasing efficiency and resulting in faster and better customer service. Developed strong leadership, communication, team, organization skills and learned to take initiative.
